Finance in Motion operates as a global impact asset manager dedicated to sustainable development across low and middle-income nations. The organization is engaged in the creation and advisory of impact investment funds that utilize blended finance strategies, uniting public and private investors to combat climate change, enhance biodiversity preservation, promote sustainable resource utilization, improve living standards, and foster economic growth.

Since its inception in 2009, Finance in Motion has successfully mobilized over EUR 5.4 billion towards these objectives in regions including Southeast Europe, the Caucasus, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, and sub-Saharan Africa. Beyond investment initiatives, the funds also extend technical assistance to bolster investees, encourage responsible finance practices, and amplify impact in the communities served.

Analyst in Risk Controlling (m/f/d)

The Risk Controlling Team, a pivotal unit within the Risk Management Department, is responsible for comprehensive risk oversight, monitoring, and methodological tasks. We are seeking a new member to assist with the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate regular and ad-hoc risk reports for the Funds, ensuring timeline adherence and input coordination.
  • Supervise and manage risk diversification limits for all Funds in accordance with Issue Documents and Fund policies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including the coordination of regular external Fund audits.
  • Organize and prepare for regular risk committee meetings.
  • Contribute to and coordinate workstreams in projects related to risk management tools, processes, or systems.
  • Maintain and provide user support for Risk Management systems, tools, and databases.
  • Establish, maintain, and document new and existing internal and cross-departmental procedures.
  • Assist in the development, testing, calibration, and validation of risk management models and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional experience in risk management, risk reporting, data management, system analysis, and/or business process optimization within the banking or asset management sectors (including internships).
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting practices of banks and/or other financial institutions.
  • Proficient in the R programming language for data analysis and automation (or equivalent experience in Python).
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of databases (SQL), with additional skills in VBA / DAX / Power Query considered advantageous.
  • Excellent written and spoken English proficiency.
  • A strong team-oriented mindset, proactive working attitude, and open communication style.
