Position Overview

Finance in Motion is a leading global impact asset manager dedicated to fostering sustainable development in low and middle-income nations. The organization specializes in developing and advising impact investment funds that utilize blended finance strategies to unite public and private investors in tackling pressing issues such as climate change, biodiversity conservation, sustainable resource management, and enhancing economic opportunities.

Since its inception in 2009, Finance in Motion has successfully mobilized over EUR 5.4 billion towards these objectives across various regions, including Southeast Europe, the Caucasus, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, and sub-Saharan Africa. Beyond investment activities, the funds also offer technical assistance to support investees, promote responsible finance, and maximize impact in the communities served.

Analyst in Risk Controlling (m/f/d)

The Risk Controlling Team, a vital component of the Risk Management Department, is responsible for comprehensive risk monitoring, controlling, and methodological tasks. We seek a new team member to assist with the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate regular and ad-hoc risk reports for the Funds, ensuring timely monitoring and coordination of inputs.
  • Oversee and manage risk diversification limits for all Funds in accordance with Issue Documents and Fund policies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including coordinating regular external Fund audits.
  • Organize and prepare for regular risk committee meetings.
  • Contribute to and coordinate workstreams in projects related to risk management tools, processes, or systems.
  • Maintain and provide user support for Risk Management systems, tools, and databases.
  • Establish, maintain, and document new and existing internal and cross-departmental procedures.
  • Assist in the development, testing, calibration, and validation of risk management models and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional experience in risk management, risk reporting, data management, system analysis, and/or business process optimization within the banking or asset management sectors (including internships).
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting practices of banks and/or other financial institutions.
  • Proficiency in the R programming language for data analysis and automation (or equivalent experience in Python).
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of databases (SQL), with additional skills in VBA, DAX, or Power Query being advantageous.
  • Excellent written and spoken English proficiency.
  • A strong team-oriented mindset, proactive working attitude, and open communication style.
