Department Overview: The Gas Department plays a crucial role in the proactive management and optimization of diverse gas operations within the EWE Group.

Role Overview: In light of the increasing globalization of gas markets and the accompanying complexities, we are looking for a skilled professional to support our gas portfolio management efforts.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Analyze product and portfolio sensitivities utilizing market data and scenarios through quantitative techniques.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers to devise effective hedging strategies that incorporate volatility markets and weather derivatives.
  • Enhance tools for evaluating and managing gas portfolios in close partnership with portfolio managers.
  • Maintain effective communication with relevant EWE units to coordinate gas-related matters.
  • Oversee the database infrastructure for gas portfolio management to ensure data clarity and process automation.

Your Profile:

  • A degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field (Diploma or Master's) or equivalent qualifications.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, a keen interest in understanding complex relationships, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, along with a solid grasp of statistical models and methodologies.
  • Proficient programming skills (preferably in Python) and familiarity with MS Office applications.
  • Experience in the energy or financial sectors, particularly in energy trading or markets, is advantageous.
  • Fluency in both German and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
