The Gas Department plays a crucial role in the proactive management and enhancement of various gas-related activities within the EWE Group. This encompasses sales trading, asset trading, and the management of both physical and financial flexibility products, along with origination tasks in European markets. Given the ongoing globalization of gas markets and the resulting complexities, we are looking for assistance in the domain of gas portfolio management.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Conducting analyses of product and portfolio sensitivities utilizing market data and scenarios through quantitative methodologies.
- Collaborating with portfolio managers to devise effective portfolio hedging strategies that incorporate volatility markets and weather derivatives.
- Working closely with portfolio managers to enhance tools for evaluating and operationally controlling gas portfolio management.
- Maintaining effective communication with related EWE units and coordinating gas-specific matters.
- Overseeing the database infrastructure within gas portfolio management to ensure data clarity and process automation.
Your qualifications:
- A degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field (Diploma or Master's) or equivalent qualifications.
- A proactive attitude, curiosity to understand connections, and a strong team-oriented mindset.
- Robust quantitative and analytical capabilities, along with a solid grasp of statistical models and methods.
- Considerable programming experience (preferably in Python) and proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Ideally, prior experience in the energy or financial sectors, particularly in energy trading or energy markets.
- Excellent command of both German and English, in written and spoken forms.
