The Gas Department plays a crucial role in the active management and optimization of various gas-related activities within the EWE Group. This encompasses sales trading, asset trading, and the management of both physical and financial flexibility products across European markets. As we navigate the complexities of global gas markets, we are looking for a dedicated professional to support our gas portfolio management efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct analysis of product and portfolio sensitivities utilizing market data and various scenarios through quantitative methodologies.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers to devise effective hedging strategies that incorporate volatility markets and weather derivatives.
- Enhance tools for evaluating and operationally controlling gas portfolio management in partnership with portfolio managers.
- Maintain effective communication with relevant EWE units to coordinate gas-specific initiatives.
- Oversee the database infrastructure for gas portfolio management, ensuring data transparency and process automation.
- Possess a degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field (Diploma or Master's degree) or equivalent qualifications.
- Exhibit self-motivation, a keen interest in understanding complex connections, and a collaborative spirit.
- Demonstrate strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, along with a solid grasp of statistical models and methodologies.
- Have substantial programming experience (preferably in Python) and proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Ideally, possess professional experience in the energy or financial sectors, particularly in energy trading or markets.
- Fluency in both German and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
