The position is based in Bremen.
The Gas Department is responsible for the active management and optimization of various gas activities within the EWE Group. This includes sales trading, asset trading, portfolio management of physical and financial flexibility products, and origination activities in European markets. Due to the ongoing globalization of gas markets and the resulting increased complexity and dynamic results of the gas business, we are seeking support in the area of gas portfolio management.
Your profile: You have completed studies in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a similar field (Diploma or Master's degree) or possess equivalent qualifications You demonstrate self-initiative, curiosity to grasp connections, and enjoy working in a team Extensive quantitative and analytical skills as well as a deep understanding of statistical models and methods characterize you You have significant programming experience (preferably in Python) and good knowledge of MS Office products Ideally, you have professional experience in the energy or financial sector with a focus on energy trading / energy markets You have a very good command of the German and English language, both written and spoken Your main tasks: You analyze product and portfolio sensitivities based on market data and scenarios using quantitative methods Together with the portfolio managers, you develop appropriate portfolio hedging strategies involving volatility markets and weather derivatives In close collaboration with the portfolio managers, you further develop tools for the evaluation and operational control of gas portfolio management You maintain close communication with related EWE units and coordinate gas-specific topics Managing the database infrastructure in the area of gas portfolio management to ensure data transparency and process automation is part of your responsibilities We offer you: Attractive compensation package and development opportunities at one of Germany's leading energy service companies.
