Reporting to the Country HeadSwitzerland & Austria and working as part of a dynamic,supportive and well-respected team, the Medical Science Liaison(MSL) will provide customer-oriented activities, giving medical andscientific support for all core products in Austria in accordancewith local codes of practice in place.
The MSLwill develop professional relationships with key customers tounderstand and improve the patient care journey (e.g. diagnosis,accessibility to treatment, disease awareness, and facilitate thedevelopment of scientific programs). Through participation in thetraining of regional and national experts on the scientific data,the MSL will become an expert in the rare diseasefield.
KeyResponsibilities- ScientificExpertise: Establish themselves as an internal and external productand disease state expert, communicate and disseminate scientificinformation, ensure impactful customer interaction, deliverinternal and external product and disease statetraining.
- KOL Management: Serve as primaryscientific contact with HCPs, coordinate and engage medicalinteractions with KOLs, organize specific events and developmedical collaboration.
- Territory Management:Implement and track territory plan including treatment pathways,protocols as well as practices, analysis of hospitals, KOLs,competitor activities, studies andtrends.
- Ownership of medically ledprojects.
- Represent the medical department andthe company at national and international meetings, congresses andsymposia and reporting from relevantsessions.
- Be able to tailor communicationacross multiple health care professionalgroups.
Life Sciences Degreeessential, PhD or MScpreferred.
Required Skills andExperience- Strongcommunicator in a one-to-one and group and remote setting, verbaland non-verbal using appropriate industry and medicallanguage.
- Monitor and ensure compliance withcompany policies.
- Capacity to work within amatrix organization and professionally manage multiplestakeholders.
- Excellent project planning,organisation, implementation, and trackingskills.
- Proven experience in the pharmaceuticalindustry in medical affairs, clinical research, or related medicalfield.
- Relevant experience in the rare diseasesand/or specialty care (prescription and hospitalbusiness).
- Familiarity with code of conduct forpharmaceutical product compliance.
- Familiaritywith review and approval process of promotional and educationalmaterials.
- Usage of project managementtools.
- Experience in interpretation ofscientific data and writing of scientificinformation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft OfficeSuite, medical information systems (i.e. Veeva) and databasemanagement (i.e.CRM).
