The Regional Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves asthe primary field-based point of contact with healthcare providers(HCPs) including clinical investigators on a range of clinical andscientific issues. The primary role is to deliver and facilitatemedical education and communications, research, and scientificinsight gathering activities of the client. This includes theprovision of scientific and medical data on both licensed andunlicensed products and indications as permissible by local lawsand regulations. The MSL will act as the medical representativeacross a large, complex environment with flexibility to supportother countries as needed by theorganisation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Developand maintain, in a self-driven manner, outstanding knowledge ofcardiometabolic diseases and related areas, including specialisedexpertise in rare disease such as Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome(FCS) and Severe Hypertriglyceridemia (SHTG), along withcomprehensive client and competitor productknowledge.
  2. Understand and execute the medicalstrategy and broader business strategy to ensure activities arecoordinated with the team and aligned to strategy within thebusiness.
  3. Serve as an external, crediblescientific expert on disease area and client products at HCP fieldmeetings, key medical and scientific conferences, advisory boards,clinical investigator meetings, and patient advocacy groupmeetings.
  4. Identify key field insights relatedto client products, activities, and the disease area, and ensurethese insights are effectively brought back to internal teams,disseminated, and leveraged through collaboration withcross-functional partners.
  5. Facilitate clearcommunication between the business and investigators ininvestigator engagement for both client trials andinvestigator-sponsored studies and barriers to enrolment forpipelineassets.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. AdvancedDegree – MD, PhD, PharmD.
  2. Demonstrableexperience in an MSL function with cardiometabolic or rare diseaseexperience preferred or experience in endocrinology orlipidology.
  3. Knowledge of clinical researchdesign and GCP in the cardiologyarea.
  4. Demonstrate a strong understanding ofclinical research trial design and study analysis including costeffectiveness and other high-level HEOR evidenceapproaches.
  5. Demonstrate ability to developtrust and maintain integrity with KOLs/External Clinical andScientific Experts, investigators, HCPs, and institutions, as wellas with peers, and others.
  6. Ability to conveycomplex scientific concepts and information appropriately tailoredto the audience e.g. affiliate staff and regional/global MedicalAffairs leadership.
  7. A good understanding of theHealth Authorities in each country across the region would beadvantageous.
