This opportunity will be responsible forimplementing the medical affairs strategy, including pre-launch andlaunch activities, for the company’s products/pipeline incollaboration with the commercial team and aligned with the globalstrategy. The Medical Science Liaison Manager will lead the fieldteam based in Europe with particular focus on its lead molecule inCardiometabolism, including HCP engagement, congress planning andmedical communications/education.

The role willlead and manage the Medical Science Liaisons in Europe, leadingtheir strategic deployment and supporting allactivities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developand maintain, in a self-driven manner, outstanding knowledge ofcardiometabolic diseases and related areas, including specialisedexpertise in rare disease such as Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome(FCS) and Severe Hypertriglyceridemia (SHTG), along withcomprehensive client and competitor productknowledge.
  • Develops and maintains in aself-driven manner outstanding knowledge of company products,competitor products, and other therapeutic options withintherapeutic area.
  • Executes and maintains thecompany medical strategy to ensure their own activities arecoordinated with the team and aligned to strategy within thecompany.
  • Management / adopt the Player Coachrole of the MSL team including training, coaching andsupport.
  • Act as an educational resource tointernal stakeholders (medical, commercial, field teams and other),providing medical/ scientific knowledge, training, and support onthe company’s products.
  • Establishes scientificcommunication and collaboration with HCPs andacademia.
  • Key role medical affairs insightgathering processes and operations including leading on workingcollaboratively towards innovative solutions for identified issuesinEurope.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experienceof working at a regional level or more than one country ofresponsibility.
  • Extensive medical affairsexperience gained in the biotechnology or pharmaceuticalindustry.
  • Therapeutic area experience inCardiometabolic and rare disease compatible with currentpipeline.
  • Experience of leadership andmanagement of previous MSL teams.
  • Knowledge ofclinical research design and GCP in the Cardiologyarea.
  • Experience in the successful managementof vendors and external teams in a matrixenvironment.
  • Demonstrable track record ofworking cross functionally on strategicplanning.
