QINLOCK(ripretinib) is Deciphera’s switch control inhibitor developed forthe treatment of fourth-line GIST. QINLOCK is approved inAustralia, Canada, China, the European Union, Hong Kong,Switzerland, Taiwan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Wewholly own QINLOCK and all of our drug candidates with theexception of a development and commercialization out-licenseagreement for QINLOCK in Greater China. In addition to QINLOCK, wehave identified and advanced multiple product candidates from ourplatform into clinical studies, including vimseltinib andDCC-3116.

Deciphera, a member of ONO, issearching for a highly motivated, insightful, and resourcefulindividual to join the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) MedicalAffairs team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of apassionate, high profile, high-impact Medical Affairs team, andwork in a highly dynamic and collaborativesetting.

We are seeking a Medical Science Liaison(MSL) who will have overall responsibility for leading, managing,and supporting ripretinib and the pre-launch/launch phase ofvimseltinib in Germany and will report to the Medical LeadDACH.

The MSL provides national vision anddirection for the medical strategy and ensures that all activitiescomply with all Deciphera’s policies and SOPs and is accountablefor the optimal allocation and management of Medical Affairsresources for the relevant products. She/he will implement atargeted medical strategy for her/his specified territory, focusingon operational tasks and ensuring alignment with businessobjectives. The successful candidate will have significantexperience facilitating strong MSL relationships with the externalscientific and medical community.

The MSL willact as a key liaison between our organization and healthcareprofessionals, therefore contributing significantly to our medicalaffairs strategy. In this position, the MSL will develop andnurture relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcareprofessionals, providing scientific insights to support our medicalstrategy and product development. Responsibilities includeconducting compliant field interactions, as well as gathering andcommunicating valuable medical insights to cross-functional teams,including market access and commercialcolleagues.

This position is available as aremote position from home and will have significant expectationsfor travel. Place of residence preferably inNordrhein-Westfalen.

What You'llDo:
  • Coverage of a dedicated area withactive management and insight tracking. The position includes theoperation of the western part of Germany.
  • Buildand develop enduring relationships with HCPs, patient advocacygroups, professional societies, and institutions, creatingconstructive cross-functional partnerships with internal andexternal stakeholders.
  • Work with externalvendors/service providers, including the Medical agencies ofrecord, in assisting with medical affairs tactics including but notlimited to advisory boards and medical education (e.g. congresssymposiums, patient cases, etc).
  • Contribute asrequested to the development/editing of other important medicalcommunications to support the Medical Affairs activities, whichmight include briefing documents, written communications,Frequently Asked Question documents,etc.
  • Ensure that key data, strategicallyaligned scientific communication points, elements from otherinternal guidance and resource documents are included appropriatelyin local publications and presentations, and that statements andconclusions are accurate, balanced, and supported by appropriatedata.
  • Participate in relevant cross-functionalteams and task forces to represent the DACH Medical Affairs team asneeded. Make presentations to colleagues and management asneeded.
  • Support internal training ofcustomer-facing colleagues, enhancing their knowledge andunderstanding of clinical data and our medicines ifneeded.
  • Promote Deciphera'svalues.
Qualifications

WhatYou’llBring:

  • Scientific orMedical Degree (Pharm D, PhD, MD)required.
  • Minimum 5 years of pharmaceuticalindustry experience required, preferably inOncology.
  • Experience/expertise ininterpretation of scientific data, market research, competitiveintelligence tools, drug information systems, and developingmedical educational strategies. Proficiency with Veeva andMicrosoft Office; in-depth Word, PowerPoint & Excelskills.
  • Demonstrated ability to leadstrategically, drive performance, build alignment, inform,negotiate and collaborate.
  • Knowledge of localpharmaceutical Code of Practice and FCPA/GPIHP, relevantSOPs.
  • Ability to formulate (write) strategic,long-range plans that are aligned with strategies across theorganization and to implement themsuccessfully.
  • Ability to work withmultidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent written,verbal and interpersonal communicationskills.
  • Flexible, with a positive attitude,strong ability to multi-task, prioritize projects effectively andcommunicate at all levels within thecompany.
  • Ability to travel(50%).
