**Duties**: - Serve as Information System Security Officer (ISSO) Specialist in the Cyber Security Division (CSD) of the 102d Signal Battalion (SB) under the 2nd Signal Brigade (BDE). - Provide advice and assistance to the Signal Battalion Commander on cybersecurity matters within the 102d SB Area of Responsibility (AOR). - Conduct periodic announced and unannounced inspections, surveys, evaluations, and reviews to determine compliance with procedures, statutes, and regulations; identify, report, and seek resolution to Information Technology related weaknesses. - Responsible for ensuring solutions to Information Technology (IT) systems vulnerabilities are implemented as appropriate. - Ensure that cybersecurity/IT staff members are trained and certified in accordance with Army and US Army in Europe (USAREUR) standards. - Serve as a technical expert of security related planning of networks, and Local Area Network (LAN) expansions. - Well versed in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process to provide assistance and guidance to Network Enterprise Center (NEC) network analysts, site personnel, certification and authentication personnel, and Authorizing Officials (AO). **Requirements**: **Conditions of Employment**: - You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. - Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. - One year trial/probationary period may be required. - Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19. - This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis. - This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. - This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate Information Assurance certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, within 6 months of entry onto duty. - This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid official U.S. Passport. - Required to obtain and maintain a military driver's license. - This position is designated as Key. The position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the mission. - This position MAY be eligible for situational telework only, including emergency and OPM prescribed Unscheduled Telework. - Direct Deposit of Pay is required. - See "Qualifications" section for additional requirements. **Qualifications**: **Who May Apply: US Citizens**Basic Requirement for Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC)**: **Specialized and Other Experience**:One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing and evaluating the security impact of system changes; developing local plans, policies, or practices necessary to provide guidance and assistance in all aspects of hardware and software security; and recommending corrective actions for system deficiencies or vulnerabilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). - The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: **(1) Attention to Detail -** Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others.**(2) Customer Service -** Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
