Head of Product Development for Electric Actuators

In this role, you will be responsible for the development of electric actuators within our business unit electric automation. The team is located at our headquarters in Esslingen and at our international sites in China, the USA, and Switzerland.

Your responsibilities:

  • Manage the development teams in the electric actuators product line at the Esslingen site and the technical teams at the foreign sites.
  • Be responsible for the technical development of the electric actuators product portfolio, including axes, cylinders, grippers, and mechatronic systems, throughout the entire product life cycle.
  • Ensure the efficient further development of an innovative product portfolio at the global development sites.
  • Develop and expand the necessary resources and skills within the global development footprint and coordinate development projects in the international teams.
  • Promote innovative strength and ensure innovative product design through the targeted use of new technologies and agile methods.
  • Drive forward technology developments and support team leaders as a sparring partner with regard to the technical feasibility of new concepts.

    Your qualifications:

    • Completed technical studies, e.g., in the field of mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automation, or a comparable degree.
    • Several years of experience in the management of executives and in the product development of mechanical products for industrial applications, ideally in an international group.
    • Experience in the development of mechatronic products, including electronics, software, and system engineering, as well as in agile development methods.
    • Business fluent in written and spoken German and English.
    • Strong methodological and coaching skills with regard to the systematic, structured development of concepts and their implementation in series products.
    • Ability to deal with conflict, assertiveness, and strong decision-making skills.
    • Passion for technical innovations.
    • Empathy combined with the ability to inspire employees and empower teams.
    • Willingness to travel (approx. 20%) and intercultural competence.
