Head of Product Development for Electric Actuators

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development of our Electric Actuators product line, working closely with our international teams in Germany, China, the USA, and Switzerland.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate the development teams at our Esslingen site and provide technical guidance to teams at our foreign sites.
  • Oversee the technical development of our Electric Actuators product portfolio, including axes, cylinders, grippers, and mechatronic systems, throughout the entire product life cycle.
  • Drive the efficient further development of our innovative product portfolio at our global development sites.
  • Ensure the expansion and development of necessary resources and skills within our global development footprint and coordinate development projects in international teams.
  • Promote innovative strength and ensure innovative product design through the targeted use of new technologies and agile methods.
  • Support team leaders as a sparring partner in regards to the technical feasibility of new concepts.
Your Qualifications:
  • Completed technical studies, e.g., in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automation, or a comparable degree.
  • Several years of experience in executive management and product development of mechanical products for industrial applications, ideally in an international group.
  • Experience in the development of mechatronic products, including electronics, software, and system engineering, as well as in agile development methods.
  • Business fluent in written and spoken German and English.
  • Strong methodological and coaching skills for the systematic and structured development of concepts and their implementation in series products.
  • Ability to deal with conflict, assertiveness, and strong decision-making skills.
  • Passion for technical innovations.
  • Empathy combined with the ability to inspire employees and empower teams.
  • Willingness to travel (approx. 20%) and intercultural competence.
