We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to work on a DLR-DAAD Doctoral Fellowship, focusing on Transfer Learning for Variable Underwater Sensor Setups. As part of our interdisciplinary research team, you will develop next-generation security technologies and drive innovation in the field of maritime sensor systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement state-of-the-art machine learning and data processing methods for underwater sensor data
- Collaborate with our team of scientists to select, analyze, and implement current approaches and methods from the scientific machine learning and deep learning communities
- Plan and execute data gathering campaigns in maritime environments
- Compare algorithms concerning the impact of altered input data parameters and publish research at international conferences and in journals
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, or similar fields
- Excellent knowledge of modern programming paradigms, including object-oriented and functional languages
- Experience in deep learning approaches and proficiency in languages such as C++, Python, Java, Scala, Haskell, and Rust
- Strong analytical and creative thinking skills for solving complex problems
- Team-minded, communicative, and cooperative
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
- Experience in research projects with partners from industry and academia
- Experience in managing larger data sets and publishing research papers
