Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior System Engineer at Siemens Mobility GmbH, you will be part of the engineering team responsible for international locomotive projects in Europe, Asia, and North America. Our locomotives operate at speeds of up to 230 km/h and transport loads of several thousand metric tons.

Technical Expertise:

You will be responsible for the technical clarification, specification, software development, and verification of the traction system for our electric or hybrid-electric locomotives. This includes bringing the traction hardware to life with your developed software and testing it in the laboratory and on the locomotive itself.

Market Requirements and Trends:

You will analyze market requirements and trends to derive the technical further development of the traction control system. You will work collaboratively with the team to develop solutions for current design, new customer requirements, improvements, and new functions.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need a completed master's degree in electrical engineering or mechatronics with a focus on drive technology and/or power electronics. You will also require longstanding experience in the field of control of electrical drives, sound knowledge in structured and model-based software development, and knowledge in alternative drive technologies like battery and/or hydrogen.
