Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior System Engineer to join our engineering team for international locomotive projects in Europe, Asia, and North America. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the technical clarification, specification, software development, and verification of the traction system for our electric or hybrid-electric locomotives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement software for the traction system, ensuring seamless integration with hardware components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and validate locomotive systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and requirements, driving the technical further development of the traction control system.
  • Work closely with colleagues to develop solutions for current design, new customer requirements, improvements, and new functions.
  • Ensure the reusability of work results to foster our platform strategy.
  • Track costs and deadlines individually for your fields of activity.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or mechatronics with a focus on drive technology and/or power electronics.
  • Longstanding experience in the field of control of electrical drives.
  • Solid knowledge in structured and model-based software development.
  • Familiarity with alternative drive technologies like battery and/or hydrogen.
  • Ability to understand and define complex systems, using a structured way of working, problem-solving, and documentation.
  • Willingness to travel as required in the work environment (up to 20%).
