Strategic Operations Manager for Engine Maintenance

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Operations Manager to lead our team of mechanics and logisticians in the execution of CFM on-site support for Airbus Leap-1A engines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical operations management and experience in managing teams in close customer environments.

About the Role

This is a demanding yet rewarding role that requires a unique blend of technical, business, and interpersonal skills. As a Strategic Operations Manager, you will be responsible for forecasting, planning, and management of resources to ensure adequate capacity and efficiency. You will report directly to the On-Site Manager and be accountable for the efficiency of your team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance operations to bring engines back into compliance and airworthiness condition without impacting Airbus' milestones.
  • Ensure the availability of parts and chemicals as needed and on time, while maintaining an up-to-date ERP database.
  • Manage people, setting expectations and performance/behavior in accordance with Safran policies and local expectations.
  • Regular communication with direct reports, including coaching, one-to-one meetings, and handover meetings within the team.
  • Maintain accurate time and attendance records and redeploy staff to other priorities as required by business demands.
  • E nsure tooling is available and calibrated, and that the team adheres to all company and local HSE policies.
  • Ensure workmanship, processes, and methods meet quality standards, conform to definition, and meet customer expectations.
  • E nsure necessary documentation is correct and completed for works carried out by the team.
  • Maintain staff skills matrices up to date and ensure compulsory training requirements are current.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

A university degree in a technical field, plus 8 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.Aircraft engine maintenance knowledge, customer orientation, IT literacy, and ability to communicate effectively in English (French and German are a plus).Previous management experience in a close customer environment, knowledge of MRP systems (SAP; BAAN), and knowledge of Airbus processes and systems are desirable.
