Overview of the Position:

We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our team as a Business Development and Corporate Communications Manager. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in enhancing our firm's presence in the German market through effective business development and marketing initiatives aimed at promoting our brand and identifying new business prospects.

Collaborating closely with local stakeholders and our broader UK-based business development team, you will work to elevate the firm's visibility and strengthen our reputation while consistently upholding the highest standards of technical proficiency and client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in executing business development and marketing initiatives, supporting individual partners or collective activities, sector or practice projects, events, and promotional campaigns.
  • Develop and oversee marketing materials such as brochures, service sheets, and presentations, ensuring adherence to the firm's branding guidelines and templates for consistency.
  • Collaborate with the broader business development department to leverage support, best practices, and insights that align with German business development goals.
  • Manage and monitor business development budgets effectively.
  • Oversee the relationship with external marketing communications agencies, including budget management.
  • In partnership with the marketing communications agency, craft a comprehensive communications and branding strategy, providing high-quality content for the firm's website, social media, press releases, newsletters, and event invitations, while managing media relations.
  • Facilitate the creation and execution of business development and marketing communications plans, coordinating with fee-earners and other departments to ensure alignment with broader firm strategies.
  • Advocate for client feedback and insights to enhance service delivery.
  • Ensure a consistently exceptional client experience, in line with the firm's Client Experience Charter.
  • Work with the relevant communications manager to prepare submissions for legal directories and awards, and communicate national and international rankings.
  • Manage the CRM database, ensuring the accuracy of client information, utilizing data to analyze client relationships, target clients, and create/manage mailing lists. Provide training and support to PAs and lawyers as needed.
  • Deliver precise financial, relationship, and pipeline reporting while identifying new opportunities.
  • Conduct research and present findings on market trends, emerging topics, and target clients in an accessible format.
  • Support client relationship management initiatives.
  • Contribute to client pitches, proposals, and presentations.
  • Participate in sector meetings and contribute to discussions.
  • Assist with conferences, seminars, and other external events.
  • Procure marketing materials and promotional items, coordinating with the central brand team.
  • Provide support to the wider business development team as required.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as assigned by a Partner, Senior Manager, or Group Support Manager.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven track record in business development within the legal or professional services sector.
  • Experience in driving, managing, and assessing key business development campaigns.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities.

  • Experience in effectively engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, particularly partners.
  • Ability to interact directly with clients and their representatives.
  • Commercial acumen and understanding of our clients' industries.
