Position: Network Administrator – Intermediate – TS/SCI Required

At GDIT, our workforce is our greatest asset. As a Network Administrator – Intermediate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security of today and the advancement of tomorrow. Your contributions will support the mission of the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM).
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and utilization of the organization’s local area network.
- Analyze contractor products to identify those that align with organizational needs; assist in presenting findings to management for hardware, software, and telecommunication procurement.
- Manage network performance and uphold network security protocols.
- Implement and enforce security measures effectively.
- Install all necessary network software.
- Evaluate, develop, and maintain telecommunications systems.
- Troubleshoot network issues and establish network policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Provide training to users on network operations.
- Administer networking hardware, including routers, switches, hubs, gateways, access points, and related equipment.
- Possess a strong understanding of fiber and copper-based Ethernet technologies and their integration into local and wide area networks.
- Monitor and address hardware and software issues using various testing tools and techniques.
- Install and configure network hardware and software.
- Deliver network troubleshooting and support services.
- Offer technical assistance and training to end-users.
- Manage network security protocols.
- Ensure backup of file server data and disks.
- Conduct complex server maintenance tasks.
- Facilitate the setup of new users and the removal of obsolete accounts from the network.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to network infrastructure and components.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience.
- Preferred Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of network troubleshooting and support principles, methods, and techniques.
- Extensive understanding of routers, switches, patch panels, and related network hardware and software.
- Proficient in desktop operating systems and applications.
- Clearance Level: TS/SCI.
- Required Certifications:
- DoD M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as mandated by the Program Manager.
- IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent.
- Computing Environment certification: CCNA or CCNA-Security.
- Additional Requirements:
- Candidates must be prepared to obtain a CI Polygraph for specific roles as dictated by contract requirements.
- Position may necessitate physical activities such as lifting IT hardware and other moderately strenuous tasks.
- Occasional travel may be required to fulfill mission objectives.
