As a Network Administrator – Intermediate, you will be instrumental in ensuring the security of today and the intelligence of tomorrow. Your responsibilities will include supporting critical operations for the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and utilization of the organization's local area network.
  • Analyze contractor products to identify those that best fulfill organizational requirements; assist in presenting information to management for the procurement and installation of necessary hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment.
  • Manage network performance and uphold network security protocols.
  • Implement and enforce security measures.
  • Install all necessary network software.
  • Evaluate, develop, and maintain telecommunications systems.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and establish network policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Provide training to users on network operations.
  • Perform administrative duties for networking hardware, including routers, switches, hubs, gateways, access points, and related equipment.
  • Possess a strong understanding of fiber and copper-based Ethernet technologies and their integration into local and wide area networks.
  • Monitor and address hardware and software issues using various testing tools and techniques.
  • Install and configure network hardware and software.
  • Deliver network troubleshooting and support.
  • Offer technical assistance and training to end-users.
  • Administer network security measures.
  • Back up data on file servers.
  • Conduct complex server maintenance.
  • Manage user accounts on the network.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network infrastructure issues.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience.
  • Preferred Skills/Experience:
    • Extensive knowledge of network troubleshooting and support methodologies.
    • In-depth understanding of routers, switches, patch panels, and related network hardware and software.
    • Familiarity with desktop operating systems and applications.
  • Clearance Level: TS/SCI.
  • Required Certifications:
    • DoD M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification is mandatory prior to contract support.
    • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent.
    • Computing Environment certification: CCNA or CCNA-Security.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Candidates must be prepared to obtain a CI Polygraph for specific roles as determined by the contract.
    • Position may necessitate physical activities such as lifting IT hardware and managing cables.
    • Occasional travel may be required to fulfill mission objectives.
