Job Overview:

GDIT presents an exceptional opportunity to engage with the Security Assistance Group – Ukraine (SAG-U) as part of our Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services (EMITS) program. In the role of Network Administrator, you will oversee and guarantee the seamless functionality of various network infrastructures, including NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and other essential systems. Your responsibilities will encompass the implementation of significant network enhancements and expansions, with a strong emphasis on core routing, switching, and network security.

Collaborating closely with system and security teams, you will assess requirements, monitor network performance, and address security challenges by devising and executing tailored solutions for intricate network environments. This position demands advanced technical expertise and problem-solving skills to provide high-level network support, ensuring the dependable and secure operation of vital networks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF A NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

  • Deliver Tier III support to resolve complex network challenges impacting mission objectives.
  • Exhibit proficiency in Cisco Umbrella DNS services and various network management tools.
  • Offer technical training and support to Help Desk personnel and other departments.
  • Engage with vendors in the design and implementation of new network systems.
  • Remain informed on certifications to adapt to evolving mission and operational requirements.
  • Participate in procurement processes, including design planning and initial material listings.
  • Demonstrate flexibility for shift work, including weekends and holidays, as dictated by mission needs.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of relevant experience, or higher education with equivalent experience.
  • Security Clearance Requirement: DoD Secret security clearance is mandatory; Top Secret clearance is preferred.
  • Certifications: CCNA or similar industry certification. IAT Level II certification or higher as per DOD M requirements.
  • Required Skills and Experience: Expertise in Cisco ISE, Firepower Management Center, and other network management tools. Proven ability to manage diverse network systems, including classified and unclassified environments. Strong troubleshooting skills and adaptability to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Physical capability for tasks such as equipment handling and hardware diagnostics.
  • Eligibility for German TESA.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced certifications such as CCNP or higher.
  • Experience in advanced networking topics, including URL/Network filtering, Geo-Blocking, and virtualization technologies.
  • Ability to create detailed network diagrams and support cybersecurity accreditation processes.
  • Knowledge of ACLs, Route Maps, ports/protocols, and advanced security configurations.
