We are seeking a highly skilled Network Administrator - Intermediate to join our team at GDIT. As a key member of our enterprise IT team, you will be responsible for the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and usage of our local area network.
Key Responsibilities:- Acquire, install, and maintain local area network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and other related network hardware.
- Study and evaluate contractor products to determine those that best meet our company's needs, and assist in presenting information to management for purchase and installation of hardware, software, and telecommunication equipment.
- Manage network performance and maintain network security, ensuring that security procedures are implemented and enforced.
- Install all network software and evaluate, develop, and maintain telecommunications systems.
- Troubleshoot network problems and establish and implement network policies, procedures, and standards to ensure conformance with information systems and company objectives.
- Train users on network operation and perform administration duties for networking hardware, including routers, switches, hubs, gateways, access points, network interface cards, networking cables, network bridges, modems, ISDN adapters, firewalls, and other related network hardware.
- Monitor and respond to hardware and software problems using a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques.
- Install and configure network hardware and software, provide network troubleshooting and support, and provide technical support and training to end-users.
- Administer network security, back up file server data/disks, and provide complex server maintenance.
- Set up new users and delete old users from the network, troubleshoot and resolve issues with network infrastructure and/or components.
- Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support.
- Comprehensive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software.
- Comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications.
- Clearance Level: TS/SCI.
- Required Certification(s): DoD M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification, IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+, or equivalent, Computing Environment certification: CCNA or CCNA-Security.
