At GDIT, our people set us apart. As a Network Administrator – Intermediate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring security today and fostering intelligence for tomorrow. Your expertise will support the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and utilization of the organization's local area network.
  • Analyze contractor products to identify those that best align with organizational needs; assist in presenting information to management to facilitate the procurement and installation of hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment.
  • Manage network performance and uphold network security protocols.
  • Ensure the implementation and enforcement of security procedures.
  • Install all necessary network software.
  • Evaluate, develop, and maintain telecommunications systems.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and establish network policies, procedures, and standards to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Provide training to users on network operations.
  • Perform administrative duties for networking hardware, including routers, switches, hubs, gateways, access points, network interface cards, networking cables, network bridges, modems, ISDN adapters, firewalls, and other related hardware.
  • Possess a solid understanding of fiber and copper-based Ethernet technologies, capabilities, and cabling, as well as their connectivity to local and wide area networks.
  • Monitor and respond to hardware and software issues using various testing tools and techniques.
  • Install and configure network hardware and software.
  • Provide network troubleshooting and support.
  • Deliver technical support and training to end-users.
  • Administer network security measures.
  • Backup file server data and disks.
  • Conduct complex server maintenance.
  • Set up new users and remove old users from the network.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network infrastructure and components.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience.
  • Preferred Skills/Experience:
    • In-depth knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques in network troubleshooting and support.
    • Extensive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software.
    • Thorough understanding of desktop operating systems and applications.
  • Clearance Level: TS/SCI.
  • Required Certifications:
    • DoD M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract.
    • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent.
    • Computing Environment certification: CCNA or CCNA-Security.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract.
    • Position may require lifting of objects (i.e., IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e., plugging in cables), and other moderately strenuous activities.
    • Travel may be required to support the mission.
