As the Director of Global User Experience Engineering (m/f/d), you will oversee the Program Application Management and User Experience Engineering across the In-Center Vertical. Your team will manage everything from User Research and User Requirements to Validation with diverse user groups and post-market evaluations, ensuring all usability-related processes and inputs are effectively handled.

Acting as the primary liaison to the real-world application of our existing in-Center products, you will spearhead the shift towards a customer-focused product development environment in partnership with stakeholders and colleagues, including product management, engineering, service, quality & regulatory, and care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Management of Usability Engineering within the Product Development Lifecycle

Oversee, execute, and document the usability engineering and user experience processes in alignment with global standards and regulations (e.g., ISO/IEC 62366, ISO 14971, ANSI/AAMI HE75) Continuously enhance processes to identify market and customer needs, conduct context and task analyses, and gather user feedback Promote close collaboration between user experience specialists and engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle Assist and advise in the creation of product documentation and terminology Facilitate the transfer of usability-related knowledge to enhance domain and contextual understanding through appropriate training across the organization Manage and support the establishment and ongoing enhancement of product-specific training for various user groups. Aid our marketing and sales teams during market preparation activities by providing specific product, workflow, and usage environment insights for customer communication Participate in and contribute to national and international standard committees (IEC/VDE/DKE/) Contribute to post-market evaluation and quality assurance initiatives Foster collaboration and interfaces with Provider Business and Clinics Support and collaborate in pre-development activities, offering expert knowledge and insights into the real-world application of in-center products

Your Qualifications

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as science, engineering, or economics, or equivalent vocational training in a technical or healthcare field, complemented by several years of professional experience (with a focus on nephrology & dialysis, medical technology, or user experience engineering) Extensive professional experience in the medical sector and user experience engineering In-depth knowledge and experience in chronic hemodialysis, renal replacement therapy, extracorporeal therapies, and user experience engineering Comprehensive understanding of Usability Engineering Processes and the associated regulatory landscape Familiarity with Requirement Engineering, Risk Management, and Post-Market Evaluation processes and their implementation Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders effectively Profound understanding of (multi-)project management and the capability to identify practical application methods Exceptional interpersonal skills, particularly in cooperation, communication, conflict resolution, and leadership A seasoned manager, particularly in indirect people management, capable of leading through influence and persuasion rather than direct authority Experienced in functionally guiding and influencing management and project teams regularly A global perspective and readiness for occasional business travel Proficient in both German and English, in written and spoken forms
