Haptic Measurement Technology and Control Elements Pre-Development Working Student Position

We are seeking a highly motivated working student to join our Body Electronics pre-development team at Mercedes-Benz AG. As a working student, you will play a key role in the development of new control elements for intuitive operability in the car and a high-quality overall impression in the vehicle.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and optimize haptic properties of control elements using IDM measurement principle
- Optimize data transfer between program parts for efficient measurement preparation and analysis
- Design and implement GUI of the measuring robot for improved measurement preparation and analysis tools
- Conduct measurement tasks and evaluate results
- Familiarize yourself with tools for haptic effect development and design
- Research and procure systems and components for haptic effect development
- Collaborate with other subject areas to ensure seamless integration of haptic effects
- Perform mechanical and soldering work as required
- Degree course in mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar with design relevance
- Experience with Matlab and Simulink
- Experience with measurement and sensor technology desirable
- Experience with command line, Linux, and networked systems also desirable
- Knowledge of UX prototyping may be an advantage (Sketch, Flinto, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Blender, Unity 3D, Blender)
- Confident handling of MS Office
- Commitment and ability to work in a team
- Analytical mindset and strategic way of working
- High motivation
- Basic knowledge of electronics an advantage
