Student Position in Haptic Measurement Technology Development

This role is situated within the Body Electronics Advanced Engineering division at Mercedes-Benz AG. The focus is on research and development, particularly in the realm of haptic measurement technology and control elements.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe primary duties include:
- Understanding the principles of IDM measurement.
- Enhancing data transfer efficiency between software components.
- Improving the graphical user interface (GUI) of measurement robots for better measurement preparation and analysis.
- Conducting various measurement tasks.
- Gaining familiarity with tools for developing haptic effects.
- Engaging in haptic design processes.
- Researching, sourcing, and commissioning systems and components.
- Collaborating across different subject areas.
- Performing mechanical tasks and soldering work.
Ideal candidates should possess:
- A degree in mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, preferably with a design focus.
- Experience with Matlab and Simulink.
- Desirable knowledge in measurement and sensor technologies.
- Familiarity with command line interfaces, Linux, and networked systems.
- Proficiency in UX prototyping tools (e.g., Sketch, Flinto, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Blender; AR/VR: Unity 3D, Blender).
- Competence in using MS Office.
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Strong commitment and teamwork skills.
- An analytical mindset and strategic approach to problem-solving.
- High levels of motivation.
- Basic knowledge of electronics is an advantage.
