Senior Business Development Manager – M&A - Utility-scale Onshore Wind/PV – Germany

About the Company

A prominent player in the renewable energy sector, recognized for its excellence in project development, execution, and operational management. The organization is on a path of significant expansion, aiming to enhance its multi-GW operational capacity by 2028, and is in search of a skilled professional to spearhead the Origination and Closing of acquisition and Joint Venture/Co-Development prospects for Onshore Wind and PV projects across Germany and Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact in Germany for all matters related to Business Development, with a strong emphasis on Joint Ventures and M&A opportunities within the Onshore Wind and Solar sectors.
  • Formulate and implement a strategic plan spanning 3 to 5 years to expedite the growth of the company's Onshore Wind and PV portfolios in Germany.
  • Oversee the acquisition process for Wind and PV projects, including negotiating project development and purchase agreements.
  • Coordinate due diligence, legal, and financial activities essential for deal closure.
  • Prepare comprehensive business cases, investment memorandums, and proposals for the investment committee, as well as present to senior management to secure necessary funding.
  • Identify and evaluate business opportunities within the German renewable energy landscape.
  • Opportunity for advancement to Regional Head of Business Development within a 2-3 year timeframe.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in Project or Business Development within the renewable energy industry, specifically in managing the acquisition of projects, portfolios, and companies.
  • A profound understanding of M&A and Joint Ventures.
  • Exceptional networking and negotiation capabilities.
  • Fluency in German; proficiency in English is advantageous.
