Lean Operations Manager

About the Company:
The Continuous Improvement Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in enhancing and streamlining operational frameworks, processes, and activities. Collaborating closely with teams across Europe and various management levels within the Fulfillment Center (FC), you will report directly to the Senior Continuous Improvement Manager.
This position requires adaptability, a drive for challenges, and a passion for implementing high standards of productivity and simplicity through Kaizen and PDCA methodologies. Curiosity and the ability to take calculated risks are essential traits for success in this role. The position is based in the Fulfillment Center, and candidates should be open to working in flexible shift patterns, including nights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Fulfillment Center improvement strategy to ensure optimal customer satisfaction at minimal costs.
- Foster a culture centered around continuous improvement and lean methodologies.
- Facilitate and train teams in Kaizen initiatives both locally and across Europe.
- Promote Lean Standard Work principles throughout teams at both local and EU levels.
- Support and manage the implementation agenda for the Fulfillment Center.
- Take charge of the Leadership Steering Committee (LSC) and prioritize process enhancement initiatives and resources.
- Standardize operational processes and actively share best practices with EU Process Owners to prevent redundancy.
- Act as a liaison between the Fulfillment Center and EU teams to leverage cross-FC process excellence and maintain robust relationships.
About the Team:
Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) specializes in handling bulky items such as furniture and large home appliances. Our team oversees the entire service spectrum, from supply chain fulfillment to delivery and returns. What distinguishes this service is the exceptional level of customer care. With a strong emphasis on safety, productivity, and innovation, we are transforming the way customers purchase and receive large goods. We have ambitious plans to expand our specialized fulfillment centers and delivery stations across the UK and Europe.
While some team members in delivery stations may work night shifts, the majority operate during the day. Our team comprises individuals from operations, supply chain, business intelligence, and program management, each playing a vital role in the growth of this business segment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, or Logistics is preferred.
- Experience in Distribution and/or Fulfillment processes, ideally within a fast-paced industrial, logistics, or production setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and its practical applications.
- A proven track record of team leadership in large-scale, process-driven environments.
- Ability to translate operational challenges into effective solutions with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Fluency in the local language and English is required for success in this role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of change management and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in training and knowledge dissemination.
