About Amazon Logistik Westfalenhuette GmbH - E74:
The Continuous Improvement Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting, coordinating, and facilitating the execution of enhanced structures, processes, and activities. Collaborating closely with teams across Europe and various management levels within the Fulfillment Center (FC), you will report directly to the Senior Continuous Improvement Manager.
This position requires adaptability, a motivation to challenge the status quo, and a passion for implementing high standards of productivity and simplicity through Kaizen and PDCA methodologies. Curiosity and the confidence to take calculated risks are essential traits for success in this role. The position is based in the Fulfillment Center, and you should be open to working in non-traditional shift patterns, which may include night shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Fulfillment Center improvement strategy to ensure optimal customer experience at minimal cost.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and lean thinking throughout the organization.
- Facilitate, train, and contribute to Kaizen initiatives both locally and across Europe.
- Implement Lean Standard Work principles across teams locally and EU-wide.
- Support and manage the Fulfillment Center implementation agenda effectively.
- Take charge of the Leadership Steering Committee (LSC) and prioritize process improvement initiatives and resources.
- Standardize processes and actively share best practices with EU Process Owners to eliminate redundancy.
- Act as a liaison between the Fulfillment Center and EU teams to leverage cross-FC process excellence and maintain robust relationships.
About the Team:
The Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) team specializes in handling heavy items such as furniture and large home appliances. We manage the entire service spectrum, from supply chain fulfillment to delivery and returns. Our service is distinguished by an exceptional level of customer care. With a commitment to safety, productivity, and innovation, we are transforming the way customers purchase and receive large goods. We have ambitious plans to expand our specialized fulfillment centers and delivery stations across Europe.
While some team members in delivery stations may work night shifts, the majority operate during the day. Our team comprises individuals from operations, supply chain, business intelligence, and program management, each playing a vital role in the growth of this business segment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, or Logistics is preferred.
- Experience in Distribution and/or Fulfillment processes, ideally in a fast-paced industrial, logistics, or production setting.
- Thorough understanding of Lean Six Sigma and its practical applications.
- Proven leadership experience in large-scale, process-driven environments.
- Ability to translate operational challenges into effective solutions with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Success in this role requires fluency in the local language as well as English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of change management and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in training and knowledge dissemination.
