As an Operations Manager at Amazon Logistik Westfalenhuette GmbH, you will play a critical role in driving operational excellence and ensuring the efficient fulfillment and dispatch of orders. This key position is responsible for leading a team of Area Managers and creating operational plans to meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and develop a team of Area Managers to achieve operational excellence.
- Lead operational teams on a shift, addressing issues, and positively impacting site performance.
- Analyze shift performance against relevant business objectives and implement actions to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with support teams, including HR, Finance, Health and Safety, and Security.
- Design and deliver initiatives across sites to enhance operational performance.
You will lead shifts at one of our operational sites, serving as the key link between various teams, including finance, safety, and operations integration teams. This role requires you to be close to day-to-day operations while contributing to innovative solutions.
A typical day will involve meetings with different business areas, deep diving into performance and risk metrics, and preparing for varying levels of demand. You will also mentor and coach your team, providing leadership and support to help them become the best managers they can be.
About the TeamAmazon Extra Large (AMXL) specializes in managing heavy items, such as furniture and large home appliances. Our team handles the entire service, from supply chain fulfillment to delivery and returns, with a focus on customer care. We deliver large items, unpack, assemble, and install them, and take away old items when needed.
We have ambitious plans to expand our specialist fulfillment centers and delivery stations across the UK and Europe. Our team is composed of individuals from operations, supply chain, business intelligence, and program management, all working together to grow this part of the business.
Requirements- A degree in a relevant field.
- Relevant experience in people and stakeholder management.
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and intermediate proficiency in the local language.
- Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions.
- Relevant experience in key areas of production and supply chains.
While not required, experience in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques, as well as experience working in a similar logistical environment, is preferred. Additionally, relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment is beneficial.
