As the Director of Field Application Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in connecting our innovative clientele with our technical marketing and application engineering teams. Your leadership will be essential in advancing our strategic vision.

In this capacity, your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Leading and empowering a team of Field Application Engineers (FAEs)
  • Adapting the FAE organization to align with market trends and Infineon's strategic objectives
  • Achieving Design Win targets and other key performance indicators to facilitate growth
  • Driving collaborative innovation with top-tier customers to maintain Infineon's competitive edge
  • Assisting FAEs in maximizing future business through a comprehensive understanding of applications, emphasizing the complete Infineon portfolio
  • Facilitating stakeholder alignment for FAEs throughout their projects
  • Managing resource allocation for FAEs based on anticipated return on investment
  • Aligning expectations and responsibilities of the FAE organization with internal and external stakeholders
  • Promoting continuous learning for FAEs to become trusted advisors to customers and to support their progression on the Technical Ladder career path

As a leader, you will provide your team with autonomy while holding them accountable for their outcomes. You will foster an environment of trust and respect among colleagues, employees, and partners. Your authentic and transparent approach will be complemented by your awareness of the strengths, developmental needs, and motivational drivers of your team members.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A university degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the semiconductor or power electronics industry
  • Proven experience as a team leader with the ability to identify and attract talent
  • Capability to recognize emerging trends in applications and competitive challenges
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating unique value propositions and prioritizing Go-to-Market strategies
  • Ability to foster alignment with key stakeholders and manage multiple interfaces
  • Strategic thinking, business acumen, and a solid grasp of process management, digitalization, and change management
  • Experience with modern CRM systems such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Project management skills with a focus on proactive follow-up
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; proficiency in German is a plus
