Role Overview

Your Career Path

Serve as the primary business partner for Cortex with Area Vice Presidents (AVPs) alongside the Cortex Vice President for designated regions. You will be comprehensively accountable for overall business performance, go-to-market (GTM) success, deal management, and customer engagement across your area. This pivotal regional position entails leadership within the theater and is integral to the regional management teams, carrying the Cortex quota and ensuring the health of the Cortex business in the respective regions.

You will collaborate with Product GTM teams to develop and proactively drive Cortex sales initiatives and programs tailored for your regions, working closely with AVPs, District Sales Managers (DSMs), and account representatives. You will also cultivate and promote the Cortex identity and community within your areas and across the theater.

Your Contributions

Customer Engagement and Visibility - Actively involved in significant emerging deals to ensure optimal positioning of use cases and delivery of the value proposition. Manage critical sales stages in the sales cycle for these opportunities. Participate in Executive Briefing Center (EBC) customer roundtables, industry events, and other external engagements, representing Palo Alto Networks' strategy in Security Operations Center (SOC) transformation. Engage in monthly Cortex QSRs to enhance understanding of how our customers leverage the Cortex platform and XSIAM platform, benefiting our Account Teams and Specialist Representatives. Business Performance Accountability - Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), participation rates in Cortex pipeline creation/bookings, and sales metrics. Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, addressing underperforming districts/areas. Collaborate with the Cortex VP and Core AVPs to define sales acceleration goals and objectives. Sales Process and Program Management - Assess and refine the sales process to identify improvement areas, streamline workflows, and enhance efficiency. Develop Cortex campaigns and sales initiatives to achieve adoption and growth objectives. Identify internal bottlenecks and streamline processes with GTM, Sales Operations, and IT support. Community Engagement and Development - Provide coaching and mentorship to sales leaders, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Support training programs alongside the Sales Enablement Team and GTM, equipping Account Teams and Specialist Representatives with essential skills and knowledge. Market Insights and Competitive Analysis - Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to influence GTM and sales strategies.

Qualifications

Your Background

Proven track record of achieving sales targets through leadership and personal goals. Demonstrated experience managing large, complex SIEM/SOC deals in the CEUR region. Sales management experience is highly preferred. Familiarity with channel/partner sales models. Proven ability to effectively engage with VP/C-level contacts. Capable of analyzing sales and market data to prepare strategic action plans and sales campaigns. Deep understanding of enterprise sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDIC) and the ability to coach others. Established strong cross-functional relationships across internal teams, clients, and partners.
