About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineering Team Lead to join our team at Kaufland e-commerce. As a key member of our Data & Analytics area, you will be responsible for managing a team of data engineers and ensuring their development, productivity, and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of data engineers and ensure their development, productivity, and performance.
  • Build and maintain a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement in the Data Engineering department.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand their data needs and ensure that the Data Engineering team delivers high-quality and reliable data solutions.
  • Develop and execute a strategic blueprint for the Data Engineering department, aligning it with the broader organizational goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate and improve the tech-stack for Data Engineering, identifying the best tools, technologies, and methodologies to facilitate data-driven decision making.
  • Guide the design and implementation of data pipelines that span ingestion, transformation, and orchestration while considering data governance, data quality, data security, and best practices in terms of engineering.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Data Engineering, with at least 2 years of experience in people management or leadership roles.
  • Strong technical skills in Data Engineering, including data integration, data modeling, and data warehousing.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing end-to-end data solutions that incorporate data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to see the big picture while abstracting from purely technical details.
  • Capable of working in an agile, mostly remote environment and possessing a strong sense of ownership, passion, and drive.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels, willing to embrace our company culture and values, and enjoy working in an international, English-speaking team.
