Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Data Engineering Team Leader, your primary focus will be to steer a team of data engineers towards achieving engineering excellence.
- Promote effective collaboration with Product Owners and Technical Leads to ensure the team's objectives align with client requirements.
- Facilitate clear communication and coordination within your team, serving as a liaison between upper management and team members.
- Encourage continuous enhancement of engineering practices by nurturing a culture of teamwork, knowledge-sharing, productivity, and engagement.
- Provide constructive feedback and support your team's professional growth within MobiLab, guiding them on personal development and skill enhancement.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new team members and offer assistance as needed.
- Empower team members to take ownership of their projects and responsibilities.
- Act as a point of contact for any team-related issues.
In addition to your leadership responsibilities, you will also:
- Assist clients in becoming cloud-native and data-driven organizations.
- Develop reliable data pipelines and well-structured data products.
- Design, build, optimize, and maintain data architectures.
- Implement and manage the ingestion of various data sources.
- Analyze, manipulate, transform, and process datasets of varying sizes and complexities.
- Enable training and operationalize machine learning models.
- Support your team through active knowledge transfer.
- Work within an agile environment and cross-functional teams.
You are a seasoned data engineer committed to achieving engineering excellence within your team:
- You possess a minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer, including at least 2 years in a leadership role within a data-centric environment.
- You hold a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering, or a related field such as Mathematics or Physics.
- You have experience in modeling data landscapes and are familiar with concepts such as Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, Data Vaults, and Data Marts.
- You are adept at working with analytics processing engines (e.g., Spark, Flink) and have experience with various storage formats (e.g., JSON, Parquet, ORC), along with a solid understanding of storage systems and their capabilities (e.g., distributed filesystems, SQL and NoSQL data stores).
- You excel in structuring data pipelines for reliability, scalability, and optimal performance.
- You approach challenges with creative problem-solving and a hands-on attitude, encouraging the same within your team.
- You inspire your team, fully engaging in your role and motivating others to do the same.
- You are fluent in English.
