About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Director to join our dynamic Business Development team in Berlin as a representative for the Spotify global key account. This position is a maternity cover, initially for 10 months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as primary point of contact for the Spotify key account, building strong relationships with platform representatives and negotiating favourable terms and conditions that align with BMG's business objectives.
  • Drive revenue growth by optimizing monetization strategies for the Spotify key account.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the platform and the wider digital music sector, providing insights and recommendations on competing platforms and industry developments.
  • Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to track performance metrics, monitor account health, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Define and set up KPIs, generate regular reports on key account performance, and report performance to senior management.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and provide guidance to ensure alignment of goals and successful implementation of partnership initiatives.

Requirements

  • Degree in business, analytics, product, music, or creative industries.
  • Considerable experience in business development or key account management within the music, technology, or content industry, preferably with a focus on digital platforms and streaming services.
  • Strong understanding of the digital music landscape, including streaming platforms, digital distribution, licensing, and revenue models for social media, AR/VR, gaming, and ad-supported media.
  • Proven track record in managing key accounts and building strong relationships with digital platforms, streaming services, and industry partners.
  • Familiarity with current trends and challenges in the music industry. Ability to drive mutually beneficial agreements with strategic partners.
  • Results-oriented, with the ability to provide ownership, work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker, capable of identifying market opportunities and effective business development strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong relationships and collaborations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Outstanding team player, with a proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Fluency in English, with German skills being a plus.
