Role Overview:
Are you an experienced Internal Controls Specialist with a passion for minimizing operational risks? We are excited to present an opportunity to join our team as an Internal Controls Specialist.
In this pivotal position, you will assist the Senior Internal Controls Manager, Europe, in evaluating and enhancing the robustness, efficiency, and proper implementation of financial and accounting controls, compliance protocols, and the timely generation of documentation across the European division of JELD-WEN. You will provide guidance to regional teams, sharing your expertise to foster continuous improvement and ensure adherence to SOX regulations.
This role offers flexibility with remote/hybrid work options and occasional site visits, approximately 15%. Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the Annual Internal Business Control testing and compliance cycle, collaborating with Business and Internal Audit teams to meet compliance deadlines, promptly addressing any issues to maintain a strong business control environment. Analyze Business Controls to identify potential enhancements or simplifications, ensuring they remain relevant and effective for the organization. Contribute to the development of new or revised Internal Business Controls as JELD-WEN Europe evolves, working closely with project teams to recommend suitable controls during the implementation of new systems or processes. Collaborate with various Countries/Functions to identify and execute remediation strategies. Provide education and coaching to internal business and operational staff within JELD-WEN Europe regarding their roles and responsibilities related to internal controls.Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounting or Internal Controls within similarly sized multi-site or multi-country organizations. Strong understanding of internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations (training available, but a willingness to develop SOX expertise is essential). Comprehensive experience in documenting processes and controls, along with assessing financial risks. Solid knowledge of accounting principles and a thorough grasp of financial statements. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information in an accessible manner. Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within diverse multi-country teams in finance and across the broader business.About JELD-WEN:
