Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Internal Controls Specialist to join our team in Europe. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the soundness, effectiveness, and proper application of accounting and financial controls, compliance procedures, and timeliness of documentation generation within the European region of JELD-WEN.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Annual Internal Business Control testing and compliance cycle, working with Business and Internal Audit to ensure compliance with timetables, escalating issues or roadblocks in a timely manner to allow JELD-WEN Europe to maintain evidence of good business control environment
  • Review Business Controls to identify and suggest improvements or simplifications, to ensure controls are appropriate and relevant for the business
  • Support development of new or updated Internal Business Controls as JELD-WEN Europe evolves and when any new systems or processes are implemented, working closely with business project teams to suggest appropriate controls
  • Work with Countries/Functions to identify and implement remediation plans
  • Educate and coach internal business and operational personnel in JELD-WEN Europe on roles and responsibilities as related to internal controls

Requirements:

  • 2 Years experience in Accounting / Internal Controls with similar sized multi-site / multi-country organisations
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley (training can be provided, however an eagerness to develop SOX skills is essential)
  • Full understanding and experience of documenting processes and controls and assessing financial risks
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and a thorough understanding of financial statements
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to communicate technical matters in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Ability to work independently, as well as within/across diverse multi-country teams, in finance and with the broader business
