Pulp and Paper Enzyme Technical Services Leader

Position Overview

As the Technical Services Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving the expansion of our operations by delivering both on-site and remote assistance to Pulp and Paper clients across the region. Collaborating closely with the local P&P team, you will be part of a global network of specialists dedicated to excellence. Your responsibilities will include fostering robust relationships with our clients, orchestrating mill trials, and uncovering new business prospects. You will report functionally to the Global Technical Services Director and administratively to the Regional Director NAM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering both on-site and remote technical assistance to key accounts, initially focusing on the southeastern and eastern regions of North America.
  • Overseeing the coordination, planning, execution, and follow-up of mill trials, including comprehensive reporting and documentation.
  • Collaborating with local account managers and technical service managers to build and sustain relationships with key decision-makers in pulp and paper facilities.
  • Engaging in the identification of customer requirements, aiding in the development of tailored solutions, and providing technical evaluations of potential opportunities.
  • Assessing market potential and business opportunities in the region in partnership with the Sales team.
  • Ensuring compliance with local environmental regulations, safety protocols, and quality standards relevant to the industry, facilitating safe enzyme trials in coordination with mills.
  • Contributing to innovation initiatives as part of the global application team, leveraging your technical application expertise.

Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the pulp and paper sector with a solid technical foundation.
  • A degree in paper science, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with enzyme applications is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • A thorough understanding of the technical and commercial demands of the industry, including key financial drivers.
  • Proven ability to network within the industry and manage stakeholders at various levels.
  • Demonstrated capability to effectively bridge the gap between technology and customer requirements.
  • Willingness to travel (including international travel) 50-80% of the time.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English are required; Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • A structured, results-driven individual with a proactive mindset and a sense of urgency in managing multiple priorities.
