Language Requirement: Fluency in German is essential for this position, with experience in SAP or similar ERP systems being highly regarded. Candidates with a strong understanding of German accounting standards will be prioritized.

Fraser Hospitality is seeking a proficient German-speaking Hotel Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations in Frankfurt and Hamburg. Based at Capri by Fraser in Frankfurt, you will manage daily accounting tasks and financial processes while providing support to operational leaders across both locations. Your responsibilities will include the preparation and submission of precise monthly Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets, adhering to strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily financial reporting and operational tasks
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures
  • Review cash management and safeguard cash floats
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and clear outstanding items
  • Mentor junior finance personnel within the hotel
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Generate monthly financial statements, forecasts, and variance analysis
  • Comply with IFRS and German regulatory standards within statutory deadlines
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and prepare audit documentation
  • Analyze monthly results, key performance indicators, and departmental cost control
  • Assist senior management with annual budgeting processes
  • Prepare corporate reporting including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements
  • Support property audits, both internal and external, along with consultants and banking representatives
  • Collaborate with the German finance team to share best practices
  • Prepare and submit VAT and City tax returns within required timelines

Candidate Profile:

  • Proficient in German, both written and spoken
  • Suitable for part-qualified accountants
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, preferably in the hospitality or service industry
  • Ability to convey financial information to diverse stakeholders, particularly those without a financial background
  • Strong attention to detail with a knack for identifying discrepancies and proposing effective solutions
  • Advanced systems skills with a focus on continuous improvement
