LOCATION: Capri by Fraser, Frankfurt, Germany

Fluency in German is a prerequisite for this position, and familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is preferred. Candidates with knowledge of German accounting standards will be highly regarded.

Fraser Hospitality is seeking a German-speaking Hotel Financial Controller to oversee our operations in Frankfurt and Hamburg. Based at Capri by Fraser in Frankfurt, you will manage daily accounting functions and financial operations while providing essential support to operational managers across both locations. Your responsibilities will include generating and submitting precise monthly Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets for the hotels, adhering to strict monthly deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily financial reporting and operational tasks
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures
  • Review cash management and secure cash floats
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and manage bank clearing
  • Provide guidance to junior finance personnel within the hotel
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable operations
  • Generate monthly financial statements, forecasts, and variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and German regulatory standards within statutory deadlines
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and prepare audit documentation
  • Analyze and interpret monthly performance results, key performance indicators, and departmental cost control
  • Assist Senior Management Accountant and General Managers in the annual budgeting process
  • Prepare P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports for corporate submissions
  • Support property audits, both internal and external, as well as liaising with consultants and banks
  • Collaborate with the German finance team to share best practices
  • Prepare and submit VAT and City tax returns within the required timelines

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proficient in the German language, both written and spoken
  • Suitable for a part-qualified accountant
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, preferably within the hospitality or service industry
  • Proven ability to communicate financial information effectively to various stakeholders, including those without a financial background
  • Strong attention to detail with the capability to identify discrepancies and propose viable solutions
  • Excellent systems skills with a focus on continuous improvement
  • A personable, positive, and dynamic professional who works collaboratively to meet deadlines, exhibiting a proactive attitude
  • A disciplined approach to the production and documentation of work
