LOCATION: Capri by Fraser, Frankfurt, Germany

Fluency in German is a prerequisite for this position, and familiarity with SAP or any ERP system is preferred. Ideal candidates will possess knowledge of German accounting standards.

Fraser Hospitality is seeking a German-speaking Financial Controller to oversee our establishments in Frankfurt and Hamburg, Germany. Based at Capri by Fraser in Frankfurt, you will manage daily accounting tasks, financial operations, and provide assistance to operational managers across both locations. You will also be tasked with preparing and submitting precise monthly Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets for the hotels, adhering to strict monthly deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily financial reporting and operational responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures
  • Oversee cash management and the safeguarding of cash floats
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and manage bank clearing processes
  • Support junior finance personnel within the hotel
  • Coordinate accounts payable and receivable operations
  • Generate monthly financial statements, forecasts, and variance analyses
  • Comply with IFRS and German regulatory standards within statutory deadlines
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and prepare audit documentation
  • Analyze and interpret monthly results, key performance indicators, and departmental cost control
  • Assist senior management with annual budgeting processes
  • Prepare financial reports including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements for corporate reporting
  • Facilitate property audits, both internal and external, along with consultants and banks
  • Collaborate with the German finance team to share best practices
  • Prepare and submit VAT and City tax returns within required deadlines
Candidate Profile:
  • Proficient in the German language, both written and spoken
  • Suitable for a part-qualified accountant
  • Demonstrable experience in financial management, preferably in the hospitality or service industry
  • Ability to communicate financial information effectively to diverse stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with a knack for identifying discrepancies and proposing solutions
  • Strong technical skills with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Dynamic and personable professional with a collaborative approach to achieving deadlines
  • Disciplined in the production and documentation of work
