LOCATION: Capri by Fraser, Frankfurt, Germany

Essential Requirements: Fluency in German is crucial for this position, along with familiarity in utilizing SAP or similar ERP systems. Candidates with a solid understanding of German accounting standards will be preferred.

Fraser Hospitality is seeking a German-speaking Hotel Financial Controller to oversee financial operations at our establishments in Frankfurt and Hamburg. This role will be based at Capri by Fraser in Frankfurt, where you will manage daily accounting tasks and provide financial guidance to operational leaders across both locations. You will also be tasked with generating and submitting precise monthly Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets for the hotels, adhering to strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily financial reporting and operational responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures
  • Oversee cash management and safeguarding of cash assets
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and manage clearing processes
  • Support junior finance personnel within the hotel
  • Coordinate accounts payable and receivable activities
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses
  • Comply with IFRS and German regulatory standards within statutory timelines
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and prepare audit documentation
  • Analyze monthly results, key performance indicators, and departmental cost control
  • Assist senior management with annual budgeting processes
  • Generate P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports for corporate submissions
  • Facilitate property audits – both internal and external
  • Collaborate with the German finance team to share best practices
  • Prepare and submit VAT and City tax returns within required deadlines
Candidate Profile:
  • Proficient in German – both written and spoken
  • Suitable for part-qualified accountants
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, preferably in hospitality or service industries
  • Ability to communicate financial information effectively to diverse stakeholders
