ROLE: German Speaking Hotel Financial Director

SALARY: Competitive Salary

LOCATION: Frankfurt, Germany

Fluency in German is essential for this role and experience in working with SAP or any Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is desired. Strong candidates would have experience of German accounting practices.

Frasers Hospitality is seeking a German Speaking Hotel Financial Director to support our properties in Frankfurt and Hamburg, Germany. Based from Capri by Fraser in Frankfurt, you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting, financial operations, and provide support to operational managers across the two properties. You will also be responsible for producing and submitting accurate monthly Profit and Loss statements and Balance Sheets for the hotels in-line with the tight monthly deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day to day financial reporting and operational duties
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures
  • Review of cash banking and safeguarding of cash floats in operation
  • Producing bank reconciliations and bank clearing
  • Support junior Finance staff within the hotel
  • Coordinate accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Preparation of monthly financial statements, forecasting, and commentary on variance
  • Reporting under and adhering to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and German regulatory requirements within statutory deadline
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliation and preparation of audit pack
  • Analyse and interpret monthly results, key performance indicators, and cost control by department
  • Assist Senior Management Accountant and General Managers with annual budgets
  • Prepare Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports for corporate reporting to strict deadlines
  • Assist with property audit – internal and external, and other consultants and bank
  • Work with other German finance team and share best practices
  • Prepare, submit, and settle Value Added Tax (VAT) returns and City tax returns within required deadline

Requirements:

  • Proficient in German language – writing/speaking
  • This role is suitable for a part-qualified accountant
  • Demonstrable experience in financial management experience with background in hospitality or service-based industry an advantage
  • Proven capability to communicate Financial Information to various stakeholders, especially with non-financial background
  • An eye for detail and the ability to identify errors and offer workable solutions
  • Strong systems skills with a mindset of continuous improvement
  • Personable, positive, dynamic professional who works flexibly and collaboratively to achieve deadlines, with a 'can-do' attitude
