Senior Scientist in Low-Level Radio Frequency Systems Design and Operation

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to lead our Low-Level Radio Frequency (LLRF) systems design and operation efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development of state-of-the-art resonance controls for narrow bandwidth superconducting cavities.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the LLRF research and development effort for the European High Duty Cycle (HDC) upgrade programme
- Design and optimize LLRF systems for advanced resonance control and narrow bandwidth superconducting cavities
- Supervise postdoctoral researchers and PhD students working on LLRF-related projects
- Collaborate with industrial partners to develop efficient operation of high power sources
- Plan and organize LLRF tests at cryomodule test facilities and user facilities
- Report on research progress and results at internal and external meetings
- Integrate newly demonstrated results into the LLRF system operating at XFEL
- PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- Several years of experience in accelerator research facilities
- Expertise in control systems, feedback controller designs, and optimization
- Strong motivation and pragmatism towards problem-solving and teamwork
