The Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) is a prominent research institution with over 3000 employees across its facilities. Our mission is to unravel the structure and function of matter, addressing significant scientific and societal challenges.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead research initiatives focused on advanced resonance control of superconducting cavities, including aspects such as detuning computation and noise cancellation.
- Supervise and mentor one postdoctoral researcher and one to two PhD candidates in relevant research areas.
- Organize and plan LLRF testing activities at designated facilities, ensuring effective scheduling and resource allocation.
- Present findings at progress review meetings, workshops, and international conferences.
- Facilitate the integration of new research outcomes into existing LLRF systems, including necessary software and firmware updates.
Qualifications:
- A university degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- A PhD and/or extensive experience in an accelerator research environment.
- Proven expertise in low-level radio frequency systems, including design and operational aspects.
- Strong background in control systems and feedback controller optimization.
- Excellent proficiency in English.
