Business Development Manager Opportunity

Altius Talent is collaborating with a global freight forwarder to find a Business Development Manager for their Düsseldorf branch. This role will focus on driving new business and managing existing accounts across the North Rhine-Westphalia region, specializing in air and sea freight solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and secure new clients in designated market segments.
  • Provide expert support and advisory services for both new and existing clients in air and sea freight.
  • Craft and customize proposals based on specific client needs.
  • Utilize and manage customer data within the CRM system.
  • Gather comprehensive customer details for RFI/RFP/RFQ processes and prepare all necessary documentation for client onboarding and operational transitions, including SLAs and SOPs.
  • Develop presentations in both German and English.
  • Organize and manage sales events.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze market trends.
  • Offer personalized and telephone support to customers.
  • Handle communication with customers, other offices, and partners in both German and English.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Completed training in freight forwarding, a logistics degree, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Experience and background in freight forwarding sales.
  • In-depth knowledge of air and sea freight products.
  • Strong understanding of current market conditions.
  • Willingness to travel within the region.
  • Excellent proficiency in English and German (spoken and written).
  • Competent computer skills, including MS Office and PowerPoint.
  • Customer-centric and solution-focused mindset.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, teamwork, resilience, and excellent organizational abilities.

Package:

  • Salary: €65,000 - €90,000, with a performance-related bonus.
