Polymer Coatings and Adhesives Engineer

Sigas GmbH, a prominent organization in the industrial protective coatings sector, is in search of chemistry engineers or material scientists to enhance its workforce. As a crucial contributor to Sigas, you will be expected to operate collaboratively and independently, managing responsibilities in a well-organized manner while primarily working in an office setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with senior formulation scientists to plan and execute research and development initiatives focused on enhancing existing and creating new polymer adhesives, coatings, and linings.
  • Documenting and facilitating technical cooperation between internal teams and external partners.
  • Engaging in various research and product development activities, including sourcing materials, conducting laboratory-scale production processes, performing material characterization tests, and ensuring quality control.
  • Supporting the sales and commercial teams by managing technical projects in collaboration with clients.
  • Developing effective and competitive solutions to client challenges using sound engineering principles and available literature.
  • Addressing inquiries and concerns from both internal and external stakeholders regarding products, testing methodologies, applications, and development processes, thereby aiding the swift and successful launch of new products.
  • Demonstrating a willingness to acquire new knowledge and undertake additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related discipline.
  • Flexibility to collaborate across various departments and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to work with internal teams, formulation scientists, sales representatives, suppliers, and clients.
  • Ability to research and analyze literature while gaining insights into competitor technologies.
  • Basic laboratory experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications is required.
  • Fluency in both German and English, both written and spoken, is essential.
