This role is designed to be performed remotely.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining the strategic direction of the organization to effectively enter and expand within European markets. This includes establishing and leading the European Sales team in alignment with the overarching business objectives, while driving the team to meet ambitious performance targets. The role also involves overseeing all sales and operational activities across the European region and fostering relationships with key accounts and distributors to enhance our presence in the biopharmaceutical sector.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales and Operational Oversight
Manage the entire sales and operational framework within Europe to ensure seamless functionality and continuous improvement of the team. Enhance collaboration with international teams to drive growth and optimize internal processes; provide strategic guidance to ensure market alignment through the development of sustainable partnerships with industry leaders and trade organizations.
2. Strategic Sales Development
a) Formulate, recommend, and execute regional sales strategies, ensuring clear communication with the team; establish sales targets and distribute them among team members; design and implement pricing strategies; execute plans to meet productivity benchmarks.
b) Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with local key accounts and distributors. Deliver timely training and tailored solutions utilizing both internal and external resources to enhance our customer base and brand visibility.
c) Guide the transition of the team towards solution-based sales, ensuring proficiency in account planning, portfolio analysis, and milestone evaluations.
d) Propel the European sales team to achieve revenue targets that align with regional objectives.
3. Team Leadership
a) Recruit, train, develop, and evaluate the performance of direct reports to meet departmental and organizational goals.
b) Inspire and enhance the capabilities of the sales team through the implementation of incentive programs and effective utilization of sales tools and pipelines.
c) Oversee the operational team and enhance their skills to drive performance outcomes.
4. Interdepartmental Collaboration
Collaborate with the marketing department on relevant promotional activities, including the planning and execution of events (such as webinars, seminars, and exhibitions), managing media outreach and promotional platforms, coordinating internal resources for presentations at designated events, and overseeing the design of marketing materials.
5. Additional Responsibilities as Assigned by Executive Leadership
Qualifications
1. Educational Background: Master’s degree or higher, preferably in life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or a related field.
2. Professional Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Sales or Marketing within the healthcare sector. Experience with mergers and acquisitions is advantageous.
