Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Software Architecture professional who is passionate about automotive electronics and eager to shape the future of E/E Systems and in-cabin user experiences.
In the role of Principal E/E Software Architect, you will possess expertise in comprehensive vehicle E/E Software systems and a solid high-level understanding of all relevant domains. Within our E/E Architecture Lab, you will lead the evaluation of E/E Software architecture trends and technologies across global markets, key clients, and suppliers. Collaborating with fellow software architects, you will design the future of vehicle E/E Software architecture and product concepts. Your responsibilities will also encompass the Chassis, Powertrain, Body, and Service-Oriented Architecture (SoA) domains, working closely with our product lines and system integration teams to merge our automotive product portfolio into a cohesive user experience implemented in the HARMAN AutoOne product engineering vehicle fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the subject matter expert in full vehicle E/E Software architecture, analyzing future software architecture trends and formulating technology roadmaps and product concepts. Act as the software architect for Chassis, Powertrain, Body, and SoA domains. Collaborate with product line subject matter experts, clients, and suppliers to analyze, identify, and establish industry benchmark E/E Software architecture design principles and best practices. Develop innovative E/E and Chassis/Powertrain/Body/SoA domain software architecture for the HARMAN Auto One reference vehicle in close partnership with product line architects and E/E Architecture Lab domain architects. Support technology partner and merger & acquisition analysis.Qualifications:
Master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field. Extensive experience (8 years) in automotive software architecture, particularly in Chassis, Powertrain, Body, and SoA domains. In-depth knowledge of all E/E Software architecture domains and their interconnections, including vehicle-level system partitioning, vehicle function allocations, and system integration. Proven technical leadership abilities with a knack for motivating and inspiring teams. Familiarity with standards such as ISO26262 and ISO21434. Proficiency in UML and associated tools. Experience with operating systems like Android, Linux, QNX, and AUTOSAR. Understanding of automotive service-oriented architectures (SoA) such as SOME/IP and DDS. Knowledge of integrating spatially and temporally isolated Chassis, Powertrain, and Body domain applications. Insight into automotive in-vehicle network interfaces like Ethernet, CAN, LIN, and sensor interfaces like PSI-5 and SENT. Familiarity with automotive sensors and actuators in the Chassis, Powertrain, and Body domains. Understanding of Classic and Adaptive AUTOSAR, safety islands, model-based application development (MATLAB, Rhapsody), and Signal to Service. Experience in developing ASIL safety concepts and decomposition.Additional Information:
