Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Software Architecture professional who is passionate about automotive electronics and eager to shape the future of E/E Systems and in-cabin user experiences.
As a Principal E/E Software Architect, you will possess expertise in comprehensive vehicle E/E Software systems, along with a solid understanding of all relevant domains. Within our E/E Architecture Lab, you will lead the evaluation of E/E Software architecture trends and technologies across international markets, key clients, and suppliers. Collaborating with fellow software architects, you will design innovative vehicle E/E Software architectures and product concepts. Your responsibilities will also encompass the Chassis, Powertrain, Body, and Service-Oriented Architecture (SoA) domains, working closely with our product lines and system integration teams to create a cohesive user experience implemented in the HARMAN AutoOne product engineering vehicle fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the subject matter expert for full vehicle E/E Software architecture, analyzing emerging software architecture trends and developing technology roadmaps and product concepts. Act as the software architect for Chassis, Powertrain, Body, and SoA domains. Collaborate with product line experts, clients, and suppliers to analyze, identify, and establish industry-leading E/E Software architecture design principles and best practices. Create innovative E/E and Chassis/Powertrain/Body/SoA domain software architectures for the HARMAN Auto One reference vehicle in close partnership with product line architects and E/E Architecture Lab domain specialists. Support analysis of technology partners and mergers & acquisitions.Qualifications:
Master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field. Extensive experience (8 years) in automotive software architecture, particularly in Chassis, Powertrain, Body, and SoA domains. Profound knowledge of all E/E Software architecture domains and their interrelations, including vehicle-level system partitioning, function allocations, and system integration. Proven technical leadership abilities with a talent for motivating and inspiring teams. Strong understanding of relevant standards, including ISO26262 and ISO21434. Proficiency in UML and associated tools. Familiarity with operating systems such as Android, Linux, QNX, and AUTOSAR. Knowledge of automotive service-oriented architectures (SoA) like SOME/IP and DDS. Understanding of integrating spatially and temporally isolated applications in Chassis, Powertrain, and Body domains. Familiarity with automotive in-vehicle network interfaces like Ethernet, CAN, LIN, and sensor interfaces like PSI-5 and SENT. Insight into automotive sensors and actuators within the Chassis, Powertrain, and Body domains. Knowledge of Classic and Adaptive AUTOSAR, safety islands, and model-based application development (MATLAB, Rhapsody, etc.). Experience in developing ASIL safety concepts and decomposition.Additional Information:
